Filters and Carbon Adsorbers

At RPS, we specialize in advanced filtration technology. Our systems effectively capture and contain contaminants, ensuring safety and compliance.

RPS offers a comprehensive range of filtration solutions for hazardous industrial applications. Our product lineup includes high-efficiency HEPA filters, specialized prefilters, and innovative HEGA filters (Carbon Adsorbers) that capture radioactive particles and gasses. These filtration systems meet strict industry standards, ensuring safety in challenging nuclear environments. We also provide custom solutions for specific radiation protection needs.

Prefilters

The main purpose of a prefilter is to capture larger particles and contaminants before the air reaches more specialized filters like HEPA or HEGA filters. This helps to:

  • Extend the life of the high-efficiency filters
  • Improve overall system efficiency
  • Reduce maintenance frequency for the main filtration components

In the context of radiation protection systems, pre-filters play a crucial role in capturing larger radioactive particles and other contaminants before the air reaches the more specialized HEPA and carbon adsorber stages.

HEPA Air Filter Products

High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters are essential components in radiation filters for air. They are designed to remove 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 microns in size, making them crucial for capturing radioactive particulates. RPS carries a wide range of industrial HEPA filter products to meet various industry needs.

HEGA Filters (Carbon Adsorbers)

HEGA (High Efficiency Gas Adsorber) filters remove radioactive gasses, especially iodine, from nuclear facility air streams. They use TEDA-impregnated nuclear-grade activated carbon for enhanced radio-iodine retention. RPS offers HEGA filters in circular and square cross-sections for various applications, accommodating diverse installation requirements. Our carbon adsorbers complement our HEPA filtration systems, providing comprehensive air purification for the nuclear industry.

ULPA Filters

Ultra-Low Penetration Air (ULPA) filters are even more efficient than HEPA filters, capable of removing 99.999% of particles 0.12 microns or larger. In radiation protection systems, they may be used where extremely high levels of air purity are required. RPS carries a range of ULPA filters to meet these specialized needs.

Ventilation, such as ASME AG-1

RPS offers ventilation systems that comply with the ASME AG-1 standard, which is a code for the construction and inspection of air cleaning systems in nuclear facilities. These systems are designed to meet stringent industry standards and regulations for safety and efficiency in nuclear environments. Our inventory includes various components and complete systems that adhere to ASME AG-1 requirements.

Filter Bags

RPS carries a range of high-quality replacement filter bags. Our bags are non-sticking and made of 8-mil thick polyvinyl chloride with a yellow translucent matte finish. A ¼-inch diameter elastic shock cord is sewn into the bag’s opening, ensuring a secure fit when stretched around the bagging flange. Each bag features three glove ports for easier filter handling during changes and doubles as a convenient receptacle for used bag removal. These containment bags can withstand continuous operating temperatures up to 150°F (66°C).

Air Flow Measurement Accessories

RPS carries a range of airflow measurement accessories. These devices are used to measure the rate of airflow in filtration systems. Accurate air flow measurement is crucial for ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of radiation protection systems.
