The capture velocity drum hood attachment for the MAC-21D facilitates the opening and inspection of 55 gallon drums. The hood incorporates a clear viewing section that extends completely over the drum top, or may be retracted to about 1/2 of the drum top to facilitate access or inspection of drum contents. Air flow is drawn into the hood, over the drum top, at a capture velocity of about 170 FPM. A screen and prefilter installed in the hood arrest material or particles that enter the MAC-21D inlet plenum.

Air flow from a separate HEPA filtration unit (SP-700 for example) is drawn into the hood, over the drum top at a capture velocity of about 100-170 FPM.
