Outsourcing your portable HEPA equipment maintenance to RPS reduces your costs, guarantees equipment readiness and performance, and gives you control over your resources.
HEPA Equipment Maintenance and Testing Services
RPS is the industry leader in the engineering, design, and use of engineering controls as a method to capture contamination at the source. Application of these techniques has proven to be the most cost effective method to control contamination. Training, when combined with up-to-date equipment, will provide your staff with the necessary skills to implement cost-saving engineering techniques. Typically, the asset value of HEPA equipment at a Utility is in the range of $100K – $200K. It pays to use and maintain this equipment properly. Maintenance of your HEPA equipment is core business for RPS.
RPS is an expert in the application of engineered controls, equipment design and maintenance. Our staff has over 150 collective years of experience in radiological engineering and controls. They are available to our technical representatives and clients on a continuous basis to solve equipment and applications problem.
Our technical representatives are trained in all aspects of engineered controls applications, and are trained and qualified to perform maintenance on all types of HEPA filtered equipment. Their qualifications include specific training in media testing in accordance with the recommendations, standards, and methods contained in ASME N510-1989, (Testing of Nuclear Air Treatment Systems). This program also meets the requirements of the Department of Energy Radiological Controls Manual.
These services have been performed at numerous US nuclear utilities including Exelon, Entergy, Dominion, FPL and in direct support of Bechtel SGR Projects. References for the program can be provided upon request.
Maintenance Program Outline
Evaluation of Equipment Inventory
A RPS technical representative will evaluate your HEPA equipment inventory to determine the scope of work required to return it to its optimum operating condition. Deliverable - a report documenting equipment condition and cost estimates for repair.
HEPA Equipment Maintenance
A RPS technical representative will order the required repair and replacement equipment, effect the repairs at your facility, operationally test the equipment, document challenge media (DOP) testing, and provide a report that will baseline the maintenance history for each unit of HEPA equipment.
Program and Procedure Review
RPS will review your engineered controls program and procedures as they relate to the use of ventilation equipment, and suggest changes necessary to meet PSC recommendations and industry standards.
Practical Engineering Controls Training
Application of Engineering Controls has been proven to be the most cost effective method to control the spread of contamination. Your technical staff needs to be properly trained in these concepts and methods, and their correct application to optimize your program.
